Well, it’s been…a while.
BUT I’M BACK AND THIS YEAR IS GOING TO BE AMAZING.
In 2014, I plan on dedicating myself to my children’s book and starting the process of publishing. This time next year, it is my hope I will be able to say that my book will be on its way to being published.
So yes yes yes, I’m back…and I’m excited. Tag along for the journey?
"The best writing happens while on the bus and bumped by a stranger or walking down the street listening to your favorite song or in the midnight hour frustrated beyond belief…
Remember, JK Rowling began Harry Potter on bits of napkins in a coffee shop. Do you think that was a scheduled sectioned out portion of her day? And hey, maybe it was, but it took her ten years to open at the close…
This isn’t a race, its a marathon. KEEP writing and KEEP setting goals and KEEP making schedules because ONE day you’ll stick to the schedule and ONE day you’ll reach every single goal and then some.” -Verandah
An excerpt from the beautiful message Verandah just sent me. This crazy website brought us together and I love her so much. I thank the stars for her and her inspirational words. She’s an amazing writer and you guys should check out her work.
Verandah, thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.
I’ve put myself in the cone of shame. I failed. The week started and I just said, N O P E. So this evening, I spent some time in the basement and I worked on a few things. I outlined the majority of my children’s book and now I actually know what’s going on so…I mean, yay?
Next week is going to be crazy with my school workload but I really need to find time to get my writing in. I still haven’t found my balance. I have to get it together though because come Fall, hopefully, I’ll be a full time teacher and I know I want to do something with my writing so I HAVE to learn how to balance work and school.
Or do I just need to get my life together and learn how to sit at a desk at a designated time?
My comedy show is this Saturday so I have to edit some sketches and whatnot. This morning, I’m waking up with energy. I’m going to get some breakfast and then come back to work on some shorts. I found some prompts online and I want to crank at least one out.
Also, I have to finish reading some books so I can review them for my joint blog project. (www.thealphabetdetectives.com)
And with all of that, I have to write lesson plans. My student will be absent today but I just want to knock it out for next week. So yeah, I’m good. I’m so good.
It’s always good when you’re busy with things you want occupying your time.
